Challenges, personal development, and a dedication to making an impact have all contributed to my current position. It wasn't easy for a Nigerian immigrant student to make new friends, balance employment and school, and negotiate the strange landscape of a new educational system. However, these events have moulded my values and purpose in addition to my professional identity. The Foundations of Resilience As a member of the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria, I have a rich cultural background that emphasises wisdom, community, and tenacity. The sayings I was raised with, like "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," have served as a source of guidance.
